The Graston Technique and Chiropractic Care
We promote whole body healthcare here, so we offer many different therapy methods. This includes traditional chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy, interferential electrical muscle stimulation, cryotherapy (ice therapy), heat therapy and customized rehab exercises. Our chiropractor may recommend the Graston Technique, a specialized soft tissue technique that helps to locate and remove built up scar tissue (also called adhesions) in the muscles and in the tendons. The Graston Technique is now utilized by about 12,500 care providers around the world including chiropractors like Dr. Reimer, therapists, and athletic trainers.
The Graston Technique is a patented method that was designed by athletes and was originally used primarily in sports medicine applications. The Graston Technique decreases the total treatment time, helps to foster a more effective recovery, and can even resolve chronic pain issues that had been believed to be permanent.
The tools used in the Graston Technique consist of stainless steel instruments, each uniquely shaped. The tools are applied to the area of the body (often used on the spine, but may be used in other areas of the body including the neck, knees, feet, etc.) causing pain. Our Los Altos and Palo Alto patients have experienced a great deal of success and speedy recovery times with this technique since Dr. Reimer began offering it as a pain management and healing option!
