Orthotics FAQs

Our feet are amazing and complex structures that need to constantly change from rigid to flexible and be made up of bones, ligaments and muscles. Thus, the bones must be small to allow for this changing motion, so this necessities many small bones in each foot. In fact a quarter of all the bones in our body are located in our feet!  Supporting all this is the plantar fascia, a band of connective tissue that runs from the heel down the length of the foot to the toes. Many people have foot pronation, i.e. they carry their weight on the outside of the foot and this causes overall posture distortion. Plantar fasciitis, a condition that causes pain and inflammation of the plantar fascia, can compromise the tissue's ability to support the arches of the foot. Fallen arches can also cause pain and swelling in the feet, legs, hips, knees, and back, as well as limiting movement. Here at Reimer Wellness Center, we believe in holistic care that treats the whole person. We recommend Foot Leveler Orthotics to correct foot problems and restore the whole body to health.

What Are Foot Leveler Orthotics?

Foot Leveler Orthotics are custom-made orthotics that are designed to balance and support your feet, according to your individual needs. They can help provide the support your feet need to relieve pain in the feet, knees, hips, back and neck. Foot Leveler Orthotics can improve posture, enhance the benefits of chiropractic treatment, and improve performance.

These orthotics are functional as opposed to rigid. Functional orthotics allow for motion to come up through the body since the feet are able to perceive ground contact due to a special DRS (Directional Response System) that is built right into the orthotic. Being functional also makes them comfortable. There are hundreds of types of Foot Leveler orthotics and prescribing which pair are the best for you is determined by your shoes style and activity level.

Why Not Just Buy Over-the-Counter Orthotics?

Most brands of over-the-counter orthotics provide inadequate arch support. Over-the-counter devices typically support only one of the foot's three arches, so they do not provide complete balance or pain relief and cannot effectively treat any of the physical problems caused by pronation, fallen arches or plantar fasciitis. Foot Leveler Orthotics rely on the 3 Arch Advantage to provide appropriate support to all three of the foot's arches.

Many patients who try over-the-counter orthotics find that they hurt more than they heal, by transferring pain and symptoms to another part of the body. Though cheaper on the surface, over-the-counter orthotics are less durable than custom-made Foot Leveler Orthotics, and therefore need to be replaced more often.

How Are Foot Leveler Orthotics Made?

Foot Leveler Orthotics are made using physical impressions or digital images of your feet. This means they can be tailored to your unique needs to provide maximum relief of your symptoms.

They are also custom made from the ground up for your individual feet and come with a 100% guarantee.

What Conditions Can Benefit from Foot Leveler Orthotics?

Pronation, poor posture, plantar fasciitis and fallen arches are some of the most common conditions that can benefit from Foot Leveler Orthotics, because these orthotics provide the feet with a solid foundation to balance the body and relieve the pain associated with these conditions. However, the feet are the body's foundation, and as such, problems with arch support can cause a range of symptoms that affect the knees, hips, and spine. Foot Leveler Orthotics can be used to treat neck and back pain, shin splints, knee pain, and hip pain. If you are seeking chiropractic care with Dr. Reimer, Foot Leveler Orthotics can help ensure that you reap the maximum benefit from your adjustments.

Can Athletes Use Foot Leveler Orthotics?

All kinds of activities, including jumping, running, and walking, can cause stress to the joints of the body and lead to pain and fatigue. This is especially true when the body is out of balance due to foot pronation. The distortion in our feet always ascends up into our body, through the legs, pelvis and spine and ultimately into our neck. Athletes, including runners, often use our Functional Orthotics to enhance performance and protect their bodies from injury.
